I take the time machine back to Raleigh, NC this week with my guest Roland Hooks. Roland played at N.C. State from 1971-1974. He was recruited by coach Earle Edwards. Al Michaels became his coach during his freshman year, then Lou Holtz took over in 1972. Coach Holtz implemented the split back system, and Roland had to share time with 3 other running backs. These backs became known as the "Four Stallions" and were considered the best running back corps in the nation (Roland Hooks, Stan Fritts, Willie Burden and Charley Young). Roland was a 10th round draft pick in the 1975 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and had a good career playing for the Bills from 1975-1983. He ran behind the "Electric Company" at Buffalo and blocked for O.J. Simpson.
