Talking College Football History: Robin Earl

When you talk Washington Huskies football you look at 2 coaching regimes:  Jim Owens (1957-1974) and Don James (1975-1992).  Our guest this week, Robin Earl, played his first two years under Jim Owens and his last two years under Don James.  Robin (1973-1976) started out as a tight end, then played fullback his final 3 years and ended up rushing for 2,351 yards in his career.  This is just outside of the Top 10 in career rushing yards for a career and he was a fullback for only 3 years of his career.  Robin was a 3rd round pick in the 1977 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.  He started out as a fullback behind Roland Harper, but when the Bears drafted Matt Suhey in 1980, he moved to Tight End.  Robin was a versatile athlete and one of Washington greats.
