Talking College Football History: Ray Parson

This week the podcast travels back more than 50 years to Minneapolis, MN with our guest Ray Parson.  Ray had a great athletic career at Uniontown High School (PA) in both football and basketball.  He was heavily recruited but decided to attend McCook Community College to improve his academics.  Ray was all-everything at McCook and then transferred to Minnesota for the 1968-1969 seasons (to the dismay of Nebraska coach Bob Devaney).  He had a solid career for the Golden Gophers and was going to play basketball for Bill Fitch before he injured his knee against Wisconsin his senior season.  That knee was re-injured in the College All-Star game against the Kansas City Chiefs and hampered his professional career in both the NFL and WFL (World Football League).  Ray shares some great stories about his career and the youth sports camps he ran after his playing career ended.
