We celebrate those great Florida State teams of the late 1980s this week. Our guest only started one year at quarterback, but what a year it was. In 1989, Peter Tom Willis led the FSU Seminoles to a 10-2 record which climaxed in a blowout win over #6 Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl 41-17. Florida State was arguably the best football team in 1989, but 2 opening losses squelched their National Championship hopes, even though they soundly defeated the eventual champion Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes 24-10 on the last Saturday in October, 1989. Unfortunately, Peter Tom's coach, Bobby Bowden recently passed away. However, we relive those great Bowden led Seminole teams of the mid to late 1980s. Think of the FSU War Chant when listening to Peter Tom (PT) Willis reminisce about those great teams.
