John Rienstra joins us this week on the podcast to talk about his Temple career (1981-1985) and his NFL career which lasted from 1986-1992 with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. John will state that he played for 3 Super Bowl winning coaches (Bruce Arians, Chuck Noll and Bill Belichick), but never won a Super Bowl when he played. He wasn't heavily recruited, but Wayne Hardin took a chance on him, and John made the most of it. The Temple teams he played on were very competitive most years and played a very tough schedule. He was drafted in the 1st round (9th overall) in the 1986 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers mainly due to his ability to trap block. John talks about his trials with anxiety during his playing career and also shares some great stories.
