This week we continue looking back to the 45th anniversary of the 1977 college football season with our guest Derrick Ramsey. The 1977 season had one undefeated team and 7 one-loss teams heading into the bowl season. Kentucky was one of the 7 one-loss teams. Derrick Ramsey was the quarterback of that team, which may very well be the best team in Kentucky football history. Kentucky won the SEC in 1977, but unfortunately, they were on probation and ineligible to appear in postseason competition. Penn State Coach Joe Paterno stated that Kentucky may have been the best team in the country in 1977. We look back at the 10-1 Wildcats and the great career of quarterback Derrick Ramsey.
