Talking College Football History: Dean Blevins

Our guest this week started "Sooner Magic" in 1976 against Nebraska with a hook and ladder play that propelled Oklahoma to victory.  He followed that up in 1977 with a game-saving drive against Ohio State in the Horseshoe to come out on top 29-28 against the Buckeyes.  Former Oklahoma QB Dean Blevins joins us this week to talk about his career and that great 1977 Oklahoma season.  Oklahoma was in the driver's seat on January 1, 1978 to win their 3rd national championship in 4 years.  They faced off against Arkansas in the Orange Bowl knowing that the Number 1 ranked Texas Longhorns went down in defeat to Notre Dame.  Dean talks about that disappointing loss to the Razorbacks along with the great season leading up to that Orange Bowl game.  Dean also shares his trails and tribulations as an Oklahoma Sooner in the mid-1970s.
