Talking College Football History: Dave Parkin

We go back in the time machine this week to Logan, Utah in the mid to late 1970s with our guest Dave Parkin.  Dave played in the defensive secondary for the Aggies from 1974-1978 (redshirting in 1976).  Utah State was an Independent during his tenure and in 1978 joined the PCAA (Pacific Coast Athletic Conference).  As an independent during Dave's tenure, the Aggies played Oklahoma, Texas and Penn State to name a few.  In 1977, Utah State had several NFL players on the squad including Dave, Rulon Jones, Eric Hipple, Rick Parros, Ron Cassidy and John Thompson.  Dave was a 9th round choice in the 1979 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and played for a few years in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.  He has been in creative branding/marketing for over 40 years and is the director of Creative Branding for our site www.pennsports.live.
