This week we explore the Louisville football turnaround in the late 1990s/early 2000's. We are looking at a little later time-period than normal, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to host Coach John L. Smith and his Defensive Coordinator Chris Smeland on this podcast. These coaches turned the Louisville football program around in a hurry. They arrived at Louisville after a 1-10 season and promptly went 7-5 and a Motor City Bowl appearance. We review this staff's tenure at Louisville which lasted from 1998-2002 with 5 bowl appearances. Listen in as Coach Smith and Coach Smeland talk about their time at Louisville and how they turned that program around.
