Brad Shearer joins me on the podcast this week. Brad is one of the best defensive players to come out of the University of Texas. He played his high school football at Westlake High School which was a suburb of Austin. He stayed at home and started his career at Texas in 1974. He started to see some significant playing time in his freshman season in 1974. He played almost all of his games on the old artificial turf in college as college football was mostly regional back when he played. Texas was the only undefeated team before the bowl games in 1977. Brad won the Outland Award in 1977 as the nation's best interior lineman. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 3rd round of the 1978 NFL draft and played in the NFL from 1978-1981. Enjoy this interview with one of the University of Texas's best defensive players in their history.
