Talking College Football History: Bob McKay

We look back at the great 1969 college football season this week with our guest, Bob McKay of the University of Texas.  Bob was at Texas from 1967-1969.  He was one of the recruits who was in the midst of 3 consecutive 4-loss seasons of Darrell Royal (1965-1967).  Emory Bellard, assistant under Royal, created the "Wishbone Offense" in the summer of 1968 and Bob was a part of this new offense which started Texas on a huge winning streak.  Bob was a 1st round NFL draft pick in 1970 (21st overall) by the Cleveland Browns and had a good NFL career from 1970-1978 with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots.  Enjoy this conversation with Bob McKay as we go back over 50 years to the heyday of Texas Longhorn football and the Southwest Conference.
