Talking College Football History: 1977 Alabama Football feat. Jeff Rutledge

We continue our celebration this week of the 45th anniversary of the 1977 college football season.  Our guest is Crimson Tide QB Jeff Rutledge to talk about the 1977 Alabama season.  Alabama was one of the 1-loss teams that year heading into the bowl season.  The Tide lost their 2nd game of the season at Nebraska 31-24.  They culminated that season with a huge 35-6 win over Woody Hayes' Buckeyes in the Sugar Bowl.  Alabama was ranked #3 heading into the bowl games, but were leapfrogged by Notre Dame, who won the national championship with their big win over Texas in the Cotton Bowl.  Alabama finished the season ranked #2 in the nation.
