Talking College Football History: Mark Herrmann

Our guest this week left his college days as the leading passer in the history of the game. Mark Herrmann quarterbacked the Purdue Boilermakers from 1977-1980 and left the school with 9,946 passing yards along with a 3-0 bowl record and 3 MVPs. When you think of the greatest Purdue quarterbacks you may think of Drew Brees, Bob Griese or possibly Len Dawson. However, Mark Herrmann is quite possibly the best of them all. He led Purdue to their only 10-win season in 1979 and played for one of the most unsung coaches in college football history in Jim Young. Herrmann was 28-7-1 from 1978-1980 and had the best overall record in the Big Ten. Listen in as Mark shares his career at Purdue along with some interesting tidbits coming out of Carmel High School (IN) along with his NFL journey.
