Talking College Football History: John Schmeding

John Schmeding is my guest this week as we go back in the mid to late 1970s to Boston, MA to talk Boston College football. John came to BC from Milford Academy and played for the Eagles from 1975-1979. Joe Yukica was his coach at BC from 1975-1977, then Ed Chlebek took over. This was not a smooth transition and there were some issues that John and his teammates had to work through. This was the time period that Boston College was attempting to improve their schedule to more of a national schedule while also playing some of the local rivalries. John was a big offensive lineman for his time and was a 3rd round NFL draft pick of the Buffalo Bills. His professional career was cut short due to injuries, but he finished up with a stint in the USFL with both the Boston Breakers and Houston Gamblers. Enjoy this interview with John Schmeding as we look back at Boston College football in the mid to late 1970s.
