Talking College Football History: Dave Warner

Dave Warner joins me this week. Dave came out of Lehighton, PA as a quarterback, but landed in Syracuse, NY to play his college football. He quarterbacked the Orangemen from 1978-1981, starting for the 1980 and 1981 seasons. His freshman season was the last year Syracuse played in Archbold Stadium and the Carrier Dome wasn't completed until the 1980 season. Syracuse played their "home" games in 1979 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, Rich Stadium in Buffalo, NY and also the final game at Schoellkopf Field in Ithaca, NY (home field of Cornell University). After football Dave started his coaching career and had some nice stints at Kansas (1988-1996), and Michigan State where he followed Mark Dantonio from Cincinnati and was the Spartans OC for several years. He is now the head coach of the Madrid Bravos of the European League of Football.
