We journey to College Park, MD this week with our guest, Dale Castro. Dale played for the Terrapins from 1978-1980. He walked onto the football program after an illness ended his college baseball career. Dale punted for Maryland in 1978, then added kicking to his resume' for the 1979-1980 seasons. He was a consensus All-American in 1979 as a kicker and set or tied 2 NCAA records: he made his first 16 field goal attempts that year which was an NCAA record at that time, and he converted on 4 field goal attempts in the first half against Mississippi State which tied the record for field goals made in a half. Enjoy Dale talk about his journey in making the Maryland football squad as a walk-on and his successes as a kicker/punter.
