Talking College Football History: Tom Gilburg

We go back to 1959 this week and relive the only National Championship in Syracuse football history.  Our guest is Tom Gilburg and he played from 1958-1960.  Tom talks about that great season and winning the Cotton Bowl, along with the troubles Ernie Davis and other black players had in Dallas for that bowl game.  Tom was a 2nd round draft pick by the Baltimore Colts and was coached by Weeb Ewbank and Don Shula during his time there.  He also played with Johnny Unitas, Lenny Moore, among many other greats.  Tom finished out his career in football by being the head coach at Franklin & Marshall (Division III) from 1975-2002 compiling a record of 160-112-2.  Sit back and enjoy the great memories that Tom Gilburg shares about his career in football.
