We head to Athens, Georgia this week and go back to the early 1980s. Our guest is Guy McIntyre, former Georgia offensive lineman (1979-1983). This is what we call Georgia's "Heyday" in their college football history. Georgia won the National Championship in 1980 and competed for the title in 1981 and 1982. The 1983 team went 10-1-1 and knocked off undefeated Texas in the Cotton Bowl 10-9. When you ask Guy what time it is in Texas, he replies, "ten to nine." After playing on those great Georgia teams, he was drafted in the 3rd round (73rd overall pick) in 1984 by the San Francisco 49ers which led to a stellar NFL career, mostly with the 49ers. Enjoy this trip down memory lane when Georgia won 3 straight SEC titles and 3 straight Sugar Bowl appearances with our guest Guy McIntyre.
