Talking Penn State Football History: Doug Allen

I travel back to the "heyday" of Penn State football (1968-1975) with my guest, Doug Allen. Doug came out of Corning Painted Post West High School in Southern New York and migrated to Happy Valley for his freshman season (1969). He endured a lot of adversity at Penn State, suffering a severe concussion during his junior season and was initially told that he wouldn't be able to play football again. He was cleared by team doctors before his senior season, and it took him a while to get back into playing shape. Doug had a phenomenal redshirt senior season in 1973 which led to his being drafted in the 2nd round of the 1974 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He was a part of an undefeated season at Penn State and played a couple years in the NFL. Enjoy this interview with Doug Allen as we travel back to the heyday of Penn State football.
