Talking Penn State Football History: Keith Karpinski

I revisit the 1986 National Championship and surrounding years with my guest Keith Karpinski. Keith came to Penn State from De La Salle Collegiate High School in Detroit, MI. Keith talks about how he escaped the grasp of Bo Schembechler of Michigan and George Perles of Michigan State. He came to Penn State as a tight end before moving to linebacker and played the position along with Shane Conlan, Don Graham, Rogers Alexander, Pete Giftopoulos, Trey Bauer to name a few. Keith played for a national championship in 1985 and won a national championship in 1986 which were bookended by 2 mediocre seasons (1984, 1988). He was drafted in the 11th Round of the 1989 NFL Draft and played 1 season with the Detroit Lions. Keith shares some great memories surrounding his time at Penn State.
