Rex and Brian are privileged to be able to discuss the career of Brad Budde this week. Brad was a member of one of the greatest offensive lines in college football history at USC. He played alongside Anthony Munoz, Keith Van Horne and Don Mosebar. Brad and his father Ed are the only father/son combination that were 1st round NFL draft picks by the same NFL team (Kansas City). Brad won the Lombardi Award in 1979 which denotes the best lineman in college football. Penn State's Bruce Clark won this award the previous year. He was also named USC's offensive player of the year as an offensive lineman, and that was with Heisman Trophy winner Charles White in the backfield. White rushed for 2,050 yards in 1979, so this was quite an accomplishment for Brad and a testament to how great of an offensive lineman he was. We hope you enjoy this interview as much as Rex enjoyed conducting it.
