The attorney for 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports said Tuesday that he will seek a rehearing before the full Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals for both organizations to keep their chartered status.

Jeffrey Kessler, lead attorney for 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports in its antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR, made the comments after a hearing on another matter Tuesday in federal court.

The teams and Curtis Polk, co-owner of 23XI Racing, sought a dismissal of counterclaims NASCAR made against them. The judge made no decision on the counterclaims Tuesday after a nearly two-hour hearing that Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing, Bob Jenkins, owner of Front Row Motorsports, and Polk attended. Michael Jordan, co-owner of 23XI Racing, was not in attendance.

The teams have until Thursday to request a rehearing. Kessler confirmed Tuesday that the teams would meet that deadline.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think the three judges, if you read their opinion, actually dealt with the hard issues and that’s what the circuit will need to do,” Kessler said in response to a question from NBC Sports.

After a thorough internal review of Carson Hocevar’s recent livestream remarks about Mexico City, and in close consultation with NASCAR, Spire Motorsports is issuing the following disciplinary measures:

A $50,000 fine, which will be donated in equal portions to three organizations that serve Mexican communities:

Cruz Roja Mexicana (Mexican Red Cross) — providing humanitarian and medical relief across Mexico.

Un Kilo de Ayuda — a nonprofit combating childhood malnutrition and supporting early-childhood development in rural communities.

Fondo Unido México (United Way Mexico) — funding local NGOs that improve education, health, and housing in 22 Mexican states.

Mandatory cultural-sensitivity and bias-awareness training to be completed by Carson Hocevar.

These actions are consistent with Spire Motorsports’ core value of RESPECT, which is something we proudly display on every race car, team uniform, trackside hauler, and digital channel. Respect is not a slogan. It is a daily expectation that we “walk the walk” in how we speak, compete, and serve the communities that welcome our sport.

Carson Hocevar’s recent comments made during the livestream fell short of that standard. They did not represent the views of Spire Motorsports, our partners, or NASCAR. He has acknowledged his mistake publicly, and his prompt, sincere apology demonstrated personal accountability. We now take this additional step to underscore that words carry weight, and respect must be lived out loud.

Spire Motorsports has informed NASCAR of these penalties, and NASCAR has confirmed that our team-imposed discipline satisfies the sanctioning body’s requirements. Together we remain committed to showcasing NASCAR’s global growth, celebrating the passionate Mexican fanbase we experienced firsthand last weekend, and ensuring every member of our organization treats hosts, competitors, and communities with dignity.

We look forward to turning the page by racing hard, representing our partners, and living our values on and off the track.

2025 marks 56 consecutive years that Dover Motor Speedway has hosted a NASCAR Cup Series race – annually Delaware’s largest professional sporting event. The Monster Mile is one of only 10 tracks in the country to host 100 or more NASCAR Cup Series races.

Beginning Friday, June 27, the ESPN tour will feature a mix of live on-site shows and segments from a different state each day for 50 consecutive days. This marks the first time in 20 years that “SportsCenter” has embarked on a cross-country tour of this scale. ESPN last presented a “50 States in 50 Days” summer tour in 2005.

The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR Cup Series race is race No. 4 in NASCAR on TNT’s debut five-race in-season tournament, which runs five consecutive weeks from June 28 (Atlanta) through July 27 (Indianapolis).

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in Mexico City has played host to Formula 1 races for several years. This year, the NASCAR Cup Series made its debut at the facility.

INDYCAR could possibly join the fun in 2026 as both NASCAR and INDYCAR look to increase their North American fan bases.

Whether NASCAR returns will be determined in the next couple of months. NASCAR and promoter OCESA must evaluate the first trip of Cup to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and the first visit south of the border of any NASCAR national series in 17 years.

It had been 67 years since NASCAR had staged a Cup points race outside the United States.

“We believe that our communities share a spirit of optimism and desire to improve the lives of our people through collaboration and connection,” NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps told the drivers prior to the race. “We believe this is particularly true through sports, and in our case, motorsports. We have the honor and responsibility to excite, entertain and unite through our sport, and I know how much putting on a great show means to all of you.

“We hope that NASCAR can continue to foster meaningful relationships here in Mexico for many years to come.”

Paul Frantz, the 2007 Evergreen(Mountain) Raceway Street Stock Champion, is set to make his return to the division June 29th.  Frantz had been competing in the Modified and Sport Modified divisions over the last sixteen years.  He had very limited success with one win coming in August of 2011.  That was also, the last time he visited victory lane.

" I wanted to be a modified champion like my dad(Russ Frantz).  I just didn't work out.  So, we put the car up for sale in April of 2024 when the Sport Mods were taken off the Evergreen schedule.  Unfortunately, it took almost a year for the car to sell": Frantz stated.

The team quickly purchased a 2015 Chris Hahn chassis that Randy Schlenker drove to an Evergreen championship.  Paul's dad, Russ, has been working on the car making changes and getting the car ready for competition.

Frantz said: "We bought the car at Easter.  Dad has been doing all the work to it.  I have been helping coach AJ's (Paul's son) baseball team, so that took up a lot of time.  Now that the season is over, we will concentrate on racing."

The plan and hope is to run as often as possible at Evergreen Raceway for the remainder of the season, as well as some of the Shangri La races.  Paul will start in the car, and the team will slowly try to acclimate AJ into running some races.  "I still want to race and win badly.  I also want to see AJ move up.  He has won the championship in Senior Honda and Light 160 each of the last two years at Keystone State Quarter Midget Club.  We will get him some practice in the car and see how he does.  Hopefully by the end of the season, he can run some races in it.  I'm also hoping we can get him in some other cars too.  He ran a Slingshot and a Microstock last year finishing fifth at Linda's and winning in the Microstock at Oreville": the proud dad said.

The three generation racing team certainly knows how to win, and they plan on doing just that.  The team looks forward to being back at Evergreen, and seeing all the fans.   For more information, visit www.frantzracing10.com

The 68th running of The Great American Race takes to the track on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

“The Daytona 500 is the crown jewel race on the NASCAR schedule and we’re ready to invite everyone back to The World Center of Racing with tickets officially going on sale,” said Frank Kelleher, President of Daytona International Speedway. “This iconic race continues to be a captivating event for fans that travel all over the world and we know that it’s going to be another unforgettable event here next February.”

On the final lap in overtime, William Byron claimed his second straight Daytona 500 victory by avoiding a crash on the backstretch and propelled past everyone from ninth to first place in an unbelievable finish. This served as the record 10th Daytona 500 win for Hendrick Motorsports, the most for any team in Daytona 500 history.

Though fans will have to wait until next year for the 68th running of The Great American Race, taking place on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, NASCAR racing will be back at Daytona International Speedway in just a couple months.
