Bobby Gunther Walsh returns after his 2024 late season injury at Grandview Speedway and he will be racing for a cure for blood cancer in 2025. A lot of folks were wondering if Gunther would return this season and the answer is yes. Bobby is looking forward to competing in the full 2025 schedule at Grandview Speedway, and is hoping to make selective appearances at Big Diamond.
Bobby is welcoming two new sponsors for the 2025 season, including Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays, and DLP Capital Partners. Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays is located in Coplay, PA. Sporting clays is one of the fastest growing outdoor activities in the country, and Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays is open year round in a beautiful setting around an abandoned 1800’s cement quarry. Whether you are a beginning or master shooter it is a great venue for everyone. Find out more at LVSClays.com.
Bobby also welcomes DLP Capital Partners as a race team sponsor. People who invest with DLP Capital Partners are currently earning 9-13% interest on their money. Find out more about how you could partner and succeed with DLP Capital Partners by going to HighYieldReturns.net.
Gunther has two charity sponsors on the car this year. In honor of Dr. Eric Lebby and in memory of Eric’s father, Gunther features Donate Life as one of those charities find out more at Donatelife.net.
The second featured charity Gunther is doing in partnership with Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays. That is Camp Freedom, CampFreedomPA.org, a camp that gives opportunities to disabled veterans, first responders, and their families. It gives them a chance to go camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and enjoy other outdoor activities with their families and with other disabled veterans and first responders.
Bobby is thrilled to welcome back his sponsors from the 2024 season. Including ResQ Natural Supplements of Palm, PA, Dr. Eric Lebby & Dr. Thomas Dibenedetto, Orthopedic Specialists, at LVHN.org; Agentis Kitchen and Bath in Allentown, Eden East Design & Landscape, and Paul Wright Roofing top the list of almost three dozen sponsors.
Included in returning sponsors are such iconic brands as Just Born Candies and Herr’s Snack Foods. That means Gunther will once again be featuring tasty handouts for the fans after the races, like those famous Just Born Marshmallow Peeps, Mike & Ike Candies, Hot Tamales, and from Herr’s a variety of chips, pretzels, cheese curls and more. Gunther does a meet and greet after the races and every week fans are treated to goodies from those two iconic sponsors, and then additional handouts from each week’s featured sponsor, this is something that the fans have come to look forward to and Bobby looks forward to meeting the fans.
Gunther is happy that he has Crew Chief Jeff Paulson returning. Paulson is responsible for Gunther’s two best back-to-back seasons ever. Including Gunther’s first appearance in the Freedom 76er in a decade. Joining Jeff will be Bobby’s brother Joe Walsh, Bill Ohmacht and long-time team members, Randy Miller and Paul Ruppert, and new to the team is Johnny Foreman. Like the last several years it’s hard for Gunther to put into words the difference Jeff Paulson has made to the team.
Gunther will be driving a 2024 Bicknell and his backup car is a 2022 Bicknell, and his primary motors are done this year by Sy Murray Performance and his backup motors are done by KB Performance, and his shocks are done by Fast Four Shocks.
Bobby has now completed his 41st year as an on-air personality and talk show host in the Lehigh Valley all on one station and all on the morning show. He has been a fixture behind the microphone for 41 years and his show can also be seen on Service Electric Cable TV and Blue Ridge Cable. Gunther is proud of his accomplishment and all of the people who have helped him achieve it including his co-workers at WAEB and his incredible supportive listeners.
Bobby is active with many charities including Animals in Distress which raised over $235,000 last year. There was $115,000 raised for the Folds of Honor again in 2024. The annual Christmas Party for The Children’s Home of Easton was able to produce over $200,000 last year. And last year was the third year he brought back his infamous spaghetti dinner with his own homemade meatballs that he makes and serves to his listeners, and in so doing he has raised over $100,000 three years in a row for Love Ran Red, an organization that helps young adults with autism.
2025 is off to a great start with Bobby and his listeners raising nearly $110,000 for the Center for Animal Health & Welfare at the annual bowl-a-thon. Bobby rolls one ball for people pledging per pin, and this year with all that pressure on the line Bobby rolled a five.
Bobby continues to support other charities and is honored to be the MC for the last 15 years for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student of the Year Awards Program, as well as their Man and Woman of the year program, now known as the Visionary Awards Program. Gunther is running for the Visionary of the Year in 2025, and he wants to win it because it would mean he raised the most money for people fighting blood cancers. It culminates on June 5th of this year, so at the beginning of the season Bobby will be promoting his Visionary of the Year campaign and hoping race fans will support him in the battle against blood cancer.
Last year, Gunther had a shortened season with a serious leg injury with what looked like a minor accident. He made appearances at the track to promote his sponsors and support other races and Grandview with prize money for the Freedom 76er.
Bobby Gunther will be kicking off his 31st season of racing with the Eighth Annual Bruce Rogers Memorial at Grandview, which he qualified for twice and with his best finish in this classic race being 9th place.

When the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour visits Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in 2025, race fans will have the opportunity to see a special tribute scheme hit the track. Patrick Emerling, driver of the No. 1 Fleetworks Inc. Modified, will carry a special tribute scheme, throwing back to Geoffrey Bodine’s No. 1 Big Red Machine owned by Dick Armstrong. The scheme will be on the track for all three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races.
The Whelen Modified Tour will visit Thompson on March 30, August 6 and October 12. All events will air live on FloRacing.TV.
Emerling won the opener of the 2025 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season at New Smyrna Speedway and also won three of five Tour-Type Modified events and the championship during the World Series week. He finished second in the championship standings in 2024 on the Whelen Modified Tour on the heels of three race wins in the debut year for the team.
“It’s an honor to be able to carry this scheme,” Emerling said. “Geoffrey was a true, hard-nosed Modified racer, who raced in a time where they ran multiple races per week. To be able to have his colors on the Fleetworks No. 1 is special to our team and we hope the fans will enjoy it. We’re looking forward to getting to Thompson and hoping to keep our momentum rolling.”
Bodine, who had 18 career NASCAR Cup Series wins, may be most well-known for taking the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 to Victory Lane at Martinsville Speedway in 1984. Driving for Rick Hendrick, Bodine captured victory during a time where Hendrick was considering shutting down the team. The win helped propel Hendrick into the future, now with 14 Cup Series championships and over 200 wins.
Outside of the NASCAR Cup Series, though - Bodine cut his teeth racing Modifieds at the short-tracks. Bodine competed in arguably the toughest era of Modified racing - racing against names like Richie Evans, Jimmy Spencer, Jerry Cook and more. Part of Bodine’s success came with Dick Armstrong as his car owner, specifically in the No. 1 Big Red Machine. Their Pinto won 55 races in one year in 1978. Bodine won countless marquee Modified events and championships, including three titles at Stafford Speedway and four of the first five runnings of the Thompson 300
Darlington Raceway’s 75th Anniversary Exhibit at the NASCAR Hall of Fame officially opened recently with the help of two of the greatest drivers ever to race the Track Too Tough to Tame.
NASCAR Hall of Famers Richard Petty (Class of 2010) and Mark Martin (Class of 2017) joined NASCAR and Darlington Raceway dignitaries to cut the ribbon on the exhibit paying tribute to the greatest races, competitors and milestones in the track’s storied history.
“This was a fitting way to unveil this incredible exhibit and begin Darlington Raceway’s 75th Anniversary celebration,” said Darlington Raceway President Josh Harris. “The NASCAR Hall of Fame does a first-class job honoring the rich legacy of our sport, and we look forward to all of the fans enjoying an exhibit that highlights everything that has made Darlington Raceway Too Tough to Tame throughout the past 75 years.”
Opened in 1950, Darlington Raceway was the first paved NASCAR track more than one mile in length. The inaugural Southern 500 on Sept. 4, 1950, drew a record field of 75 cars and paid a total purse of $23,325. It was the largest purse in NASCAR history and more than four times larger than any other race that season. Today, Darlington Raceway continues to produce dramatic racing, close finishes and breathtaking moments.
To honor that history, the NASCAR Hall of Fame curated and developed an exhibit with four cases, 24 artifacts with photos and 25 standalone timeline photos. A total of 28 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductees are named in the exhibit’s script.
Some notable artifacts include:
Darlington Raceway’s original sanctioning agreement signed by NASCAR Founder William H.G. France and Darlington Raceway founder Harold Brasington
Buck Baker’s NASCAR Roadster Division championship jacket from 1952
The plaque presented to Richard Petty after surpassing his father Lee Petty with a record of 55 NASCAR Cup Series wins in 1966
““We are proud of the NASCAR Hall of Fame being the recognized home for honoring NASCAR’s evolving history, celebrated heritage and family-oriented traditions,” said NASCAR Hall of Fame Executive Director Winston Kelley. “We are also thrilled to join in the celebration of Darlington Raceway’s 75th Anniversary. Darlington Raceway was NASCAR’s first superspeedway that became a catalyst for future growth and racetrack development in our sport.
“Aptly nicknamed the ‘Track Too Tough to Tame,’ Darlington is a track on which every driver wants to win as drivers respectfully refer to Darlington as ‘a driver’s track’ because of that toughness. Understandably, many of our Hall of Famers have experienced tremendous successes, memorable victories and career highlights at Darlington as the elite drivers tend to dominate winning there. We are excited to partner with Darlington Raceway and share their rich history with our guests.”
Petty and Martin’s inclusion in the ceremony was more than fitting. During the 1966 and 1967 seasons, Petty won three of the four NASCAR Cup Series races contested at Darlington Raceway. That included his monumental 55th win which vaulted him past his father, Lee Petty, for the most wins in NASCAR Cup Series history.
Martin, meanwhile, is tied with the late Dale Earnhardt for most Darlington wins all-time. He won 12 Darlington races overall, including twice in the NASCAR Cup Series, twice in the International Race of Champions (IROC) and a stunning eight times in what is now the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Darlington Raceway’s 75th Anniversary season races into high gear April 5-6 with The Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR. Drivers and teams will pay tribute to the rich heritage of NASCAR with throwback paint schemes and uniforms that will invoke Too Tough to Tame memories of days gone by.
Action begins Saturday, April 5, with the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200. It concludes Sunday, April 6, with the NASCAR Cup Series’ Goodyear 400. NASCAR fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets while supplies last at 866-459-7223or online at darlingtonraceway.com.
Ohio Logistics, one of the Midwest’s largest privately-owned logistics firms with 25 locations spanning seven states, will retain its role as the title sponsor of the annual Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park, upping its commitment to 18 consecutive events since joining forces with co-promoter Brad Doty in 2008.
The 37th Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by dac® Pet Products is set to take over Attica headlines on July 15, and, as tradition has it, will feature the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, and Ohio’s finest, in an elbows-up battle for $15,000.
“All of us at Attica Raceway Park are so thankful and full of gratitude to have partners like Mr. Chuck Bills and Ohio Logistics for the Brad Doty Classic. They’ve played a tremendous role in the event’s growth as a sought-after prize on the World of Outlaws schedule. We’re proud to have so many drivers and fans circle this event on their calendar,” Brad Doty explained. “Our partnership extends many years and it’s their dedication and commitment that has allowed for so much growth. We’re excited for it to get here.”
The 37th Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by dac® Pet Products will kick-off a massive Ohio swing for the Greatest Show On Dirt, which will see competition continue at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, for four nights of action on July 16-19.
David Gravel, the 2024 World of Outlaws champion, is also the defending Brad Doty Classic champion, outdueling ten-time Series champion, Donny Schatz, and former NASCAR champion, Kyle Larson, for the $15,000 score.
“The Brad Doty Classic brings local, regional, and national talent, as well as their friends and families together, and we’re thrilled to be a part of such an historic event,” Chuck Bills of Ohio Logistics said. “We can’t wait for July.”
Like 2024, the Brad Doty Classic will feature the richest payday on the Attica Raceway Park schedule, also awarding the coveted Brad Doty Classic championship trophy and helmet – all to be awarded in Attica Raceway Park victory lane following the 40-lap contest.
New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) is proud to announce an exciting partnership with the driver development program, PT Autosport, and their drivers: Alex Sedgwick and Henry Drury, which will bring brand new concepts to the NJMP Drivers Club members.
With this partnership, Alex Sedgwick returns to NJMP for two (2) all-exclusive Pro Driver Drivers Club Track Days. Sedgwick is a professional driver and driver coach with on-track experience dating back to the 2011 LGM WTP Cadet British Karting Championship. Transitioning from karts to cars, he has a strong knowledge of various vehicles such as Ginetta Juniors, Single Seaters, One-Make Series, Touring Cars, GT Cars and Stock Cars. His latest achievements include his 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup North America win in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car.
Joining the NJMP Drivers Club instructors, in partnership with PT Autosport, is driver Henry Drury. Drury’s experience is related to Single Seaters (F4, FFord, F1600), GT Cars (Mazda MX5, Toyota GR Cup, GT4), and Road Cars (Mazda, Tesla, Porsche). He has coached clients both in-car and through data analysis at events across the USA and works directly automotive brands and racing teams on track days.
In 2025, Sedgwick and Drury will lend their experience to the Drivers Club members with a range of exclusive offers. Both drivers will provide one-on-one private coaching at a cost for members looking to develop and refine their skills using video, data, radio, setup development, and demo laps with right-seat coaching.
NJMP and PT Autosport are also exploring the benefits and entertainment value of a sim racing league, giving members the opportunity to utilize the PT eSeries to their advantage.
Sedgwick will return to NJMP for two Pro Driver Drivers Club Track Days where he will coach members in the classroom and out on-track with a turn-by-turn track walk of Thunderbolt and Lightning Raceways.
New this year is the Ginetta GTA Test Drive Event, where members can test drive the G56 GTA on track. Members will also get to explore the karting track with the pro driver during ‘Beat the Pro’ Karting Competitions.
“We’re really excited about expanding PT's partnership with NJMP for the 2025 season,” said Sedgwick, PT Autosport’s Head of Operations and Driver Development, who is set for a soon-to-be announced Porsche-based race program. “PT Autosport was formed at NJMP back in 2022 so it’s a natural fit for the team and for the track. Given PT Autosport’s ethos in developing drivers and providing opportunities for racing talent to shine, we want to do the same with the driver's club and help NJMP to create even more meaningful development and coaching opportunities for their members. There are a good number of plans in development with plenty of exciting options for the future, so we are hoping to build an even longer-term partnership as we go forward.”
PT Autosport provides aspiring drivers with the knowledge they need to succeed in the motorsports industry, providing opportunities as a race car driver, engineer, mechanic, or business professional.
“NJMP and PT Autosport have been working together for years, each year growing more involved than the one before,” observes NJMP President and CEO, Brad Scott, “We are excited to bring these new concepts to our valued Drivers Club members, and to continue developing this partnership with PT Autosport for years to come.”
