Talking Penn State and College Football History: Robert Lavette and Tyrone Anthony

This week, we are talking ACC football and are privileged to have two great running backs to come out of that league. Rex and Brian talk with Robert Lavette (Georgia Tech's leading rusher all-time) and Tyrone Anthony (North Carolina's 10th leading rusher all-time). These players took two completely different routes to their success. Robert Lavette helped rebuild Georgia Tech under new Head Coach Bill Curry starting in 1981. Robert never played in a bowl game in his collegiate career. Tyrone Anthony took an opposite approach. He had to share time with "Famous" Amos Lawrence, Kelvin Bryant and Ethan Horton from 1980-1983. He amassed over 2,500 yards on the ground while sharing time in each of his four years at North Carolina. Both of these running backs were fun to watch when they played in the early 1980s and fun to talk to when they shared their collegiate experience.
