Talking Penn State and College Football History: Al Romano

We are celebrating the 45th anniversary of Pitt's national championship season of 1976. Our guest this week is Al Romano, a stalwart on the Pitt defensive line. Pitt may have had the best national championship team in history as they had to use a 3rd team, walk-on quarterback, for three games that season, which was unprecedented. Not only was that a distraction, but their head coach, Johnny Majors, was rumored (which was true) to be headed for the Tennessee coaching position after the national championship game. Listen in as Al discusses these distractions and how Pitt overcame them to become possibly the best national championship team in college football history.
